What is CFAR algorithm?
Constant false alarm rate (CFAR) algorithms are forced to reach a specified false alarm rate, meaning the number of false alarms that are accepted in a certain data range. The threshold holds the value, which a certain range cell has to exceed to be identified as an object.
How does a CFAR detector work?
A CFAR detection occurs when the input signal level in a cell exceeds the threshold level. The threshold level for each cell depends on the threshold factor and the noise power in that derived from training cells.
